Marketplace Gungahlin Indoor Playground Completed

Arcus Wire Group is proud to support the Marketplace Gungahlin Indoor Playground project through the supply of Flexi-Mesh stainless steel architectural cable mesh, used to form custom-shaped mesh panels for a unique indoor playground structure.
Delivered by Bespoke Wire & Rope, with FORGE as the project builder, the installation highlights the adaptability of Flexi-Mesh across complex architectural environments.
Located within Marketplace Gungahlin in the ACT, the project involved the installation of various custom-shaped mesh panels integrated throughout the playground structure.
Designed for Complex Geometry
The window frame panels were prefabricated from detailed shop drawings produced for the project. However, due to the compound curves of the main panel and the characteristics of the Flexi-Mesh product, an oversized panel was supplied and carefully trimmed, shaped, and swaged on-site to achieve the required fit and finish.
While this approach required additional patience and installation time, it ensured installation accuracy without compromising project timelines.
The completed installation demonstrates the flexibility of Flexi-Mesh in projects where standard flat-panel solutions are not suitable, while maintaining the integrity, performance, and aesthetic quality of the finished mesh panels.
Installation Expertise Delivered On Site
Through a strong understanding of the behaviour and characteristics of Flexi-Mesh, the installation team was able to deliver a factory-manufactured quality mesh panel without compromising the integrity, performance, or aesthetic of the final installation.

Installation was delivered by Bespoke Wire and Rope, who fabricated and installed each individual cable on site. Using mobile rigging equipment and a local franna crane, the artworks were temporarily suspended while cables were manufactured and installed in situ. This approach allowed for exact cable lengths, fine adjustment during installation and reduced risk compared to pre-fabricated assemblies.
