Project Update: Upgrading Shade Sail Cables at Sea World Splash Park

Arcus Wire Group has supplied new hamma® stainless steel cables to local shade sail specialist Sigtah for a major upgrade to the shade sail infrastructure at the popular Sea World Splash Park on the Gold Coast – replacing the long-serving galvanised support cables with a high-performance stainless steel system.

High-Performance Stainless Steel System Installed

The new cables are manufactured from hamma® X 19mm Pro Strand wire rope, paired with hamma® Optima 19mm turnbuckles and swage forks – delivering a stronger, more durable, and corrosion-resistant solution designed to withstand the demanding coastal environment.

The project involved replacing the original 22-metre galvanised cables, which had reached the end of their service life after years of exposure to salt, moisture, and UV. The upgraded system not only boosts long-term structural integrity but also enhances the overall visual appeal of the shade sails with a cleaner, modern stainless steel finish.

Images show a clear comparison between the newly installed stainless steel assemblies and the previous galvanised setup – highlighting the improved quality, strength, and longevity offered by the hamma® Optima fittings.
